The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) has released new guidance for schools, child care, day camps, and other youth activities. As of April 14th, 2022 masks are optional indoors and outdoors for students and staff. We are committed to doing what we can to decrease the risk of transmission to our most vulnerable students and staff while addressing our students' unique social and emotional needs.

We are committed to the following:

  • Continue our mitigation strategies such as: eating outside, maintaining distance when unmasked, increasing hand washing, increasing cleaning high traffic spaces and keeping classrooms well ventilated.

  • Continue with symptom management and isolation protocol outlined by the DOH- WA.

  • Review our local COVID data. If there is a spike, staff and board members would assess and ask students to wear masks during that time period.

  • Talk with students about what to expect at school on April 18th.

  • Recognize that each of us has different reasons for wearing or not wearing a mask and both are worthy of respect.

Please join us in choosing curiosity and kindness to help guide us in the months ahead. Let’s model for our children what respect and honoring our differences looks like. We are stronger together and our strength comes from our unique experiences.
